Door2Door Rider
Frank Mahoney
By Scott Fleming
Office Manager
Malden resident Frank Mahoney knows about teaching. This ninety-one year old taught mathematics in the Chelsea school system for 40 years, and he also coached football and softball. Teaching is a family profession for the Mahoneys, beginning with his father, who used to say, "Priests touch the soul, doctors touch the heart, but teachers touch the mind." Both Frank and his brother, John, followed their dad into this noble profession. Not to break from tradition, Frank's three sons and one of his grandsons are also... teachers. Simply amazing.
Frank still drives a car most of the time, but getting to the doctor's office is just too aggravating. The traffic. The parking. "And it seems like they make more money in the parking garage than in the actual doctor's office," Frank laughs. It didn't take a PhD to figure out the solution: Door2Door. "I've recommended you highly to others," he says. "Very accommodating. Courteous. Clean vans. Prompt. It's a marvelous thing!" Frank may be retired from the classroom, but we're pleased that he takes the time to educate others about our service.
Thank you, Frank Mahoney!

Kinsey Award Winner:
Joe Marcucci

Joe joined the SCM team less than six months ago, but already it's hard to imagine doing business without him. A jack-of-all-trades, Joe has flourished as a driver, a champion of customer service, and as our new Special Projects Coordinator. He has been well-accepted by the rest of the team, as evidenced by this award, given by a committee of his peers.
Joe has been running the Rider's Advisory Committee and the Customer Service Task Force, both designed to help SCM reach its full potential. He always has a nice thing to say and is up for anything, helping out wherever he's needed. We're glad to have him, and we hope he stays for a long time. |

An Oldie But A Goodie
By Sam Westover
Door2Door Transportation Manager
before
 |
after | We'd like to tell you about one of our toughest team members. Here since 2001, this absolute workhorse has done more than 40,000 one-way trips for our clients, travelling more than 132,000 miles in all kinds of weather. Who am I talking about? Why, it's 019 ("oh-one-nine"), our oldest van. Outlasting many of its newer brethren, this hearty 2001 Dodge Ram shows no signs of wanting to retire. 019 is still a favorite van for our drivers. It was also the last to get a facelift with SCM's new image. Keep an eye out for this oldie but goodie driving around town with a brand new green and white paint job.
