Welcome to SCM

Hi, and welcome to SCM Community Transportation. We promote the independence of seniors and persons with disabilities through community-based transportation. Our friendly, safe and reliable services help people maintain healthy, mobile and connected lives.

We also provide private transportation and excursions, the proceeds of which directly support critical services for our low income riders.

SCM was founded in 1983 by the Massachusetts communities of Somerville, Cambridge and Medford (SCM), but we also help out folks in surrounding towns and cities.  Twenty-five years old, we one of Greater Boston’s longest standing and most beloved non-profit providers of transportation services.

We provide 9,000 one-way trips a month, serving  3,000 of our neighbors. 

New Look

We are proud to introduce our new look, representing the next exciting phase in SCM's evolution. Based on feedback from our riders and the community, our new branding "Door 2 Door" best reflects the truly door-to-door service SCM provides, greeting our riders at their doorway and escorting them back and forth to our vans. 

As we update our vans, we will be rolling out the new color scheme thanks to the excellent sponsorship by the Cambridge Portuguese Credit Union, our new community partner.  We are excited by their involvement with the SCM mission and welcome them to our family.  If you are looking for excellence in service and community involvement for your banking needs, SCM recommends you stop in to one of their branches and tell them SCM sent you!
